Some essential oils make your skin more sensitive to the sun--specifically to UV rays--if you use them topically. When using these oils topically, don't put them where you will be exposed to UV rays, either through natural sunlight OR through tanning beds. 

If you live in a northern country like Canada, this is not an issue in the winter time when the UV rays are not as powerful. You must be careful about topical use of these oils when you travel to a warm climate or if you live in a country where the sun is always strong.
