Tips & Recipes for

Clove

Clove's name comes from the Latin word claves, meaning "nail," due to the shape of the flower buds from which it is distilled. Clove essential oil is a powerful antioxidant with strong anaesthetic qualities, making it very useful for relieving pain. It has been used time out of mind for dental issues and teething pain. This warm and spicy oil is much used in cooking as well, in both savoury and sweet dishes. It pairs well with other spices as well as with citrus oils and sweet herbaceous oils like Roman Chamomile.

Here are some recipes and diffuser blends so you can enjoy your bottle of Clove in many ways.

Emotional Healing

Our sense of smell is a key that can unlock and release emotional pain that we have buried deep inside ourselves. What would it feel like to be free of those burdens?

Clove is the oil of boundaries.  It is a good oil to use when you need courage and clear boundaries, or when you need to feel protected, courageous, capable and independent. Clove helps you be proactive, to stand up for yourself and live in integrity

Use Clove when you feel victimized, dominated, defeated or enslaved, or when you feel intimidated, controlled, codependent or when you fear rejection. Clove gives you strength to break free of patterns of exploitation.

Inhale from the bottle, diffuse it, or place a drop in your hands and inhale deeply. To use Clove topically, dilute 1-2 drops with carrier oil and apply to the bottoms of the feet or to the lower abdomen. (Note: Clove is considered a hot oil, so use caution when applying it topically.) To use it internally, take 1-2 drops under the tongue, in a capsule, or in water.
