Douglas Fir


Douglas Fir is a conifer that is native to North America. This tall evergreen is frequently used as a Christmas tree, and has a lemon-scented note that's sweet and refreshing. dōTERRA Douglas Fir essential oil is sustainably sourced from young trees in New Zealand, where it is a highly invasive species threatening the country's ecosystem. 

Douglas Fir has a unique chemical composition that's particularly rich in beta-pinene, contributing to its fresh and clear aroma. Douglas Fir offers an uplifting aroma and can be added to a facial cleanser as a clarifier. Blending Douglas Fir with citrus oils creates an uplifting, refreshing aroma.

Recipes

Uplifting Salt Scrub

Ingredients

3/4 cup sea salt or Epsom Salt
1 - 2 Tbsp Fractionated Coconut Oil
10 drops Douglas Fir 
15 drops Wild Orange or Tangerine



Directions

  1. In a bowl, add Fractionated Coconut Oil to the Epsom Salts one tablespoon at a time, mixing until the salt becomes fluffy. 
  2. Add the essential oils and stir well. 
Scrub your skin with this exfoliating mixture prior to a bath or shower. 

DIY Room Spray

Ingredients

60 mL spray bottle 
Distilled water
30 drops Douglas Fir
15 drops Grapefruit
15 drops Frankincense

 

Directions

  1. Count the essential oil drops into the spray bottle. 
  2. Measure 2 oz of water, then pour into the spray bottle. 
  3. Shake well and spray into the air.  
Note: You can use any size spray bottle; adjust the number of drops of essential oil proportionally.
