Frankincense is legendary thanks to the numerous health benefits that it offers. It has been used for thousands of years in traditional medicine across numerous cultures, including Jewish, Islamic, Chinese and Indian practices. Frankincense is anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and immune boosting, making it effective for all kinds of conditions. It aids respiration, so is helpful with conditions like asthma and congestion. It has wonderful, regenerative effects for the skin and so is useful in skin care and wound healing. It aids digestion, eases pain, and is emotionally soothing. In fact, Frankincense has so many beneficial properties that we have a saying: "when in doubt, use Frankincense first!"
One of Frankincense's best properties is that it acts as an enhancer of other oils it is used with. This is why you see Frankincense in so many blends for all different purposes.
This month, I will be sharing 31 days of Frankincense recommendations. Each week I will post the next week's worth of ideas and suggestions. Scroll through the images, the explanations and instructions are below. There is no shortage of ways to use your free bottle of Frankincense from dōTERRA!
Day 1: Frankincense, Lime, Easy Air This is one of my favourite blends for respiratory issues! This blend can be used to clear airways, soothe mild coughs, and help reduce phlegm. Topically: Combine 3-5 drops of Frankincense, Lime and Easy Air to a 10mL roller, and top up with carrier oil. (Check dilution ratios below for age-appropriate dilution.) Apply to chest as needed. Aromatically: Add 3-5 drops of each in your diffuser.
Day 2: Cellular Support One of Frankincense’s most powerful benefits is its ability to promote healthy cellular function. Try taking Frankincense oil internally by dropping 1-2 drops under the tongue, or adding one to two drops in a Veggie capsule to swallow, This natural supplement will help support healthy cellular function while boosting your immune system. (dōTERRA also offers Frankincense in a capsule, if you don't want to make your own.)

Day 3: F.L.O.O.T Blend (Frankincense, Lemon, Oregano, On Guard, Tea Tree) This blend is a go-to anytime our bodies need some big guns to fight off more of the intense environmental threats. What makes this "Floo bomb" so powerful is the immunity boosting blend of essential oils. These oils not only actively kill pathogens, they also activate your white blood cells so they fight off threats more aggressively. You can take the Floo Bomb internally via a shot glass or a veggie capsule, or make a roller bottle for topical use. (See roller bottle dilution ratios below.)

Day 4: Release Negative Emotions with Frankincense, Lemongrass, Lavender, Bergamot and Tea Tree. Are you looking for a blend to boost and uplift your mood? Look no further, this combo of oils not only helps to lift your spirits, but also helps to release negative emotions you may be harbouring deep inside. Topically: Combine desired drops (see dilution ratios below) to a 10ml roller, apply to wrist and over your heart to combat negative emotions. Aromatically: Combine 2-3 drops of each and diffuse throughout the day.
Day 5: Focus Potion Do you have a difficult time staying focused, have a big project coming up for work, maybe children in school who need some extra support to focus on the task at hand? Whatever the case may be, this blend can help your mind and body stay on task and focused. Topically: Combine desired drops to a 10ml roller, apply to back of neck and wrist as needed. Aromatically: Diffuse 2-3 drops of each oil to increase productivity.
Day 6: Gifts of the Magi -- Frankincense & Myrrh The three gifts of the magi had a symbolic meaning: gold symbolized virtue, frankincense symbolized prayer, and myrrh symbolized suffering. What better time to celebrate the Gift of Magi than during the Christmas Season! This blend is magical for the skin as well as the emotions. Topically: Combine desired drops to a 10ml roller, apply to back of neck, spine, and feet. Aromatically: Diffuse 2-3 drops of each to clear stagnant energy.
Day 7: Gentle Detox using Lavender & Frankincense This gentle detox is an excellent way to rid your body of toxins, as well as to soothe tired muscle. Combine 2-3 drops of each oil with 1⁄4 cup of Epsom salt, add to a warm bath and soak for at least 20 minutes.
