Valentine's Day is coming up on Wednesday this week, so let's take a closer look at some oils for intimacy and romance. The four oils shown here are among the most precious in doTERRA's collection. All of these can be used just like perfume: roll them on pulse points and any area you feel drawn to.
Neroli comes from the flower of the bitter orange tree. Modern studies have demonstrated this oil's positive effects on emotional regulation and stress reduction, as well as beneficial effects for high blood pressure. It's also considered to be one of the best oils for increasing libido.
Whisper is a much loved blend due to its beautiful, calming aroma. Many women love this blend for managing hot flashes, reducing irritability, and for its positive effects on libido.
Rose is the Queen of oils! It has been beloved since antiquity as much for its luscious aroma as for its many health benefits. It is often used for its uplifting emotional benefits, all types of skin issues (especially those related to aging such as dryness and fine lines), menstrual problems, and even digestive upset. It's no secret that roses are considered the ultimate flower for romance, and the essential oil captures the essence of the flower in a beautiful and easy to use format.
Jasmine is sometimes called Queen of the Night -- partly because the flower is most fragrant at night, and partly because it is a powerful aphrodisiac! Jasmine's sweet, floral fragrance is both calming and seductive. I can tell you from personal experience that this oil is one of the most powerfully uplifting for the emotions. It is the one oil that can lift my spirits on the darkest of days.
I absolutely love the way essential oils help to regulate emotions. These next four oils have truly wonderful benefits for emotional well-being, which in turn helps us better navigate our family relationships and romantic relationships. Add them to a diffuser alone or in combination, or use them topically on pulse points.
Here is a practical recipe/method to use essential oils topically to increase libido. You can create a blend using the essential oils listed here, or use any of the oils mentioned above.
The best way to learn what works for YOU is to play with your oils! Experiment with different oils to see how they affect your mood and how you feel.
To create your own blend, smell different oils and pick three that you feel most drawn to. Use a little dish to mix one drop of each oil. Smell that and see how you like it... add another drop of one or another to change the aroma profile. Once you have an aroma profile that you like, add some carrier oil to the blend and apply topically.
Keep notes as you go, so you can recreate your blend. If you want to enjoy your blend more than once, create it in a roller bottle for topical use, or in an empty essential oil bottle (without carrier oil) for use as a diffuser blend.
