Allergy Season

Every year at this time, the trees start to flower and I start to sneeze. My eyes itch and even swell up (depending on how bad the pollen is).

Consider this your reminder about how to take care of allergies naturally! I recommend that you start SOON to take preventative action.

When the pussy willows turn fluffy, pollen will soon start flying through the air. That's when I will start dosing myself every day with my natural remedy.

This remedy was one of the first that I learned, and I call it my "allergy shot" because I make it up in a shot glass: add 1 oz of water to a shot glass, then add 2 drops each of doTERRA Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint. You can either shoot it back just like that, or swish in your mouth and then swallow.

The advantage of the "swish and swallow" method is that the lining of your mouth immediately absorbs some of the essential oil, so the remedy may start working faster for you.

Other ways you can use this recipe: Put the drops into an empty veggie capsule and swallow it. Or, make a roller bottle using 10 drops each of the three oils, top with carrier oil, and use it topically on the back of the neck, down the spine and on the bottoms of the feet. You can also diffuse these three oils together for another way to support your body through the season.

Lastly, dōTERRA made this remedy for us in a softgel called Triease. It is available in the US Warehouse. This is a super user-friendly way to get natural support for your allergies, because you can just pop a couple of softgels when you need them. This is great option when you're travelling, when you are in a scent-free environment, or if you don't like the taste of Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint together and/or don't want to make your own veggie caps.

And, there you have it: one simple, natural and very flexible remedy. Now we just need to remember to take it!
